Angry Verbs!
Teach elementary students about verbs using angry birds!
- Create your angry verbs by writing verbs on angry bird cut outs (leave room for students to later write a sentence).
- Put tape on the back of the angry verbs.
- Write sentences with missing verbs on the board.
- Ask students to the front of the room to place the appropriate angry verbs in the sentences.
- Hand out angry verbs to each student.
- Ask students to write a sentence on their bird using the verb.
- Allow students to colour in their angry verb and place them on the class bulletin board.

Finland’s system, [Pasi Salberg, Finland’s former head of education] said, could not work in the U.S. Factors of societal, economic and cultural differences must be considered and will always shape a country’s education system to make it unique.
But if Sahlberg insisted he couldn’t prescribe exactly what the U.S. needs to do to succeed, he was confident he could identify some of what we’re doing wrong. He shared four lessons for the U.S. from Finland that challenge some of the school reform conventional wisdom in the U.S. and especially in Indiana.
In short, he argued that several of the fundamental beliefs of reformers here — reformers like Bennett — were just flat wrong

Coffee Filter Roses | Aunt Peaches
I’ve featured how to make your own fake fowers before, but these might be the easiest ones I’ve seen in a while, and they’re so pretty! And so cheap too - all you really need is coffee filters, paint, floral tape and time. That last one might not be easy to come by, but the final product is worth it!
